Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS)

 

RMS is a rare type of cancer known as a malignant soft tissue sarcoma.   RMS mostly affects children and teenagers.

250-300 children diagnosed each year. (2025)

  

Two Types:

  • Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma (ERMS)

  • Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (ARMS)

​

RMS is a highly aggressive form of cancer. It develops early in the skeletal muscles and affects the muscle and/or nerve tissue.
